Stephen Ministers are trained lay people who provide confidential, one-to-one Christian care to individuals in the congregation and the community who are experiencing a difficult time in their lives.

First Presbyterian Church has a number of Stephen Ministers ready to provide emotional and spiritual care for those going through a difficult time:

  • loss of a loved one
  • hospitalization
  • divorce or separation
  • loneliness or discouragement
  • spiritual crises
  • unemployment or a job crises
  • terminal illness
  • incarceration
  • aging
  • birth, adoption, miscarriage or infertility
  • chronic illness
  • relocation
  • recovery after an accident or disaster
  • more

Stephen Ministry is a confidential ministry. The identity of those receiving care and what takes place in each caring relationship remains private.

Everyone goes through difficult times. Having someone to care, to listen, pray and share God’s love can help get us through confusion, stress or loneliness. If you need help, contact Jodi Hardman, Jim Crabtree or a member of the pastoral staff.
